Project Focus

Working from family systems, ecological, and attachment models, we are studying interactions between mothers and their preschool children, and in particular, their patterns of interactive synchrony, rupture, and repair, in order to identify various types of parent-child relationship processes, and their associations with child self-regulatory and behavioral outcomes.  Our methods include behavioral observation, survey, and neurophysiological (i.e., ECG) measurement of parenting processes, self/emotion regulation, and behavior.
